NVC foundation course for anyone new to Nonviolent Communication or a wanting to refresh the basics. This course will support you in handling conflicts and expressing yourself honestly, even when this feels uncomfortable.

What will we do.
We look at both the principles and concepts of NVC, which are based on active listening, the intention to do no harm and staying in connection with another person through empathic communication. Nonviolent Communication (also referred to as compassionate, empathic, mindful and authentic communication) can support your relationships in the family, with friends, colleagues, and daily interaction with strangers.

We cover the 4 components and 2 parts of the model.

The four components of NVC are:

  • OBSERVE mindfully recognising triggers that enrich or diminish your relating in some interactions with others
  • Notice and accept what you FEEL in these situations
  • Recognise which NEEDS are met/unmet in this situation.
  • Communicate your REQUESTS and expressions of gratitude and/or concerns clearly, with confidence.

These are the two parts of NVC.

  • Expressing ourselves honestly through the four components
  • Receive the other and ourselves empathetically through the four components
