This Practice Group begins with a "remembering" for inspiration, centering and connecting with ourselves. This is followed by a "check-in" when we share how we are, what we bring with us or what we hope to receive during the session. Activities include: short education exercises, empathy, role-plays, games and discussions. Participants can facilitate the group with prior arrangement with Rodger Sorrow

No one turned away due to lack of funds -- work exchange and barter welcome.  | TIME: 7:15 pm - 9:30 pm one Friday each month, including April 11, May 16, and June 27, 2008 (contact Jeff for future dates) | DESCRIPTION: Most sessions will use the following format: a brief presentation of a particular NVC skill, followed by practice exercises and role playing real situations. Empathy and self-empathy are common themes, as well as compassionate honesty, gratitude, celebrating and mourning. Deepening workshops of Nonviolent Communication (5x2 days, dates: May 12th/13th, June 9th/10th, August 16th/17th, September 16th/17th, Ocotber 14th/15th)
These 10 days will focus on “inner work” and exploring our relationships and dialogues with ourselves and situations that trigger us. The workshops will help you to discover choices we didn’t know we had and the tools to relate to yourself with a greater sense of compassion.
We offer the opportunity to come for the first workshop to get to know me and then sign up for the rest.
In my experience before we can connect compassionately with others we first need to learn to connect compassionately with ourselves.
The workshop is also an opportunity to become part of a group that continues developing NVC skills and consciousness over the time.

We’ve all got ‘em—clients who are argumentative, demanding, vague, talk-a-holic, or many other qualities that make us dread their appointments with us.  In this workshop, we’ll take a look at what makes these people tick and how we can establish balance and respect in these tricky relationships.  You’ll leave with new ideas, inspiration and concrete skills for turning any difficult client into an ally.

Facilitated by CNVC Trainer Holly Michelle Eckert, a former music teacher, and independent NVC Trainer Erika Jennings, a former massage therapist and accounts receivable specialist.  Between them, they have 30 years of dealing with difficult clients and transforming these relationships into mutually beneficial alliances.
