Alpha Testers Needed for the new Training Registration Application.

CNVC Information Technology, in response to the 2008 Strategic Plan survey, has developed an improvement to how we will support training courses on our web site. We will help trainers present their training in a more attractive and clear way by providing an improved layout and places to list information people want to know. It will allow people to register online and help the trainer keep track of all the people and their details and payments. People who have attended courses will be able to see their course history.

We expect this will be a great help for people looking for training and for people offering training. We are asking for your help to test this application on our development server.

Would you have an hour or two to test this application and provide your feedback?

The team of people who have built this improvement believe that everything we want the application to do is working as we planned. We have created courses, registered for them, and worked on the help files to be sure the features work and that they are useful for everyone involved.

Before we go forward, we need to be sure that people who have never seen the application use it and also have the experience that the features work and are useful, and that the directions are clear and complete.

If you would like to help, we will ask you to create two training courses and register for two courses created by someone else. We expect this part to take between 20 and 40 minutes. Then we will ask you to review the registrations of people who have signed up for your training. Then we will ask you to record a payment from a registrant as if you had received a check for a training sent to your postal address. We expect that to take about 10 to 20 minutes.

Then we will collect your feedback about any errors you discover, recommendations to improve the instructions, and ideas about additional features you might like in the future. This could take between 10 to 30 minutes.

We would love to use “watch” you go through the process while we record your thoughts and experiences as they occur. This would reduce the time it would take to provide feedback, and would require using screen sharing software we can help you set up.
