Bridging the Gap

Purpose:

We will nourish belonging and connection in our daily lives, and strengthen our capacity to connection across generations, through practising basic skills of Nonviolent Communication relevant to our intergenerational relationships. (eg adults to parents or elders, grandparents adult children or to grandchildren)

Outcomes

- Understand & practice shifting between the modes of Self-Connection, Listening with Empathy, and Self-Expression.

- Become familiar with paths from habitual reactivity to new options for empathy, compassion, listening with love, through structured practice.

- Gain skill using the foundations of Nonviolent Communication as developed by Marshall Rosenberg.

Fee request

in the range of $250 NZD to $450 NZD by your choice. Payment by paypal (or if in NZ, direct Credit)  

Earlybird price: in the range $170 NZD to $350 NZD by your choice when registering and paying by 22 April.

 

Type of activities

You can expect interactive style learning and relevant practice opportunities in this small group environment.  Modes of working include breakout rooms, demonstration, listening exercises, poetry, song, journalling.  Options provided for working with a practice partner between sessions.

Topics include:

  • Expressions of Acknowledgement or Gratitude
  • Being Present to Reactivity (ours and theirs)
  • Self-Connection Practices
  • Bringing our Honesty with Observations
  • Active Listening and Empathy
  • Empowering Requests


Support materials and practice guidelines will be offered to support integrating these learnings into daily life between weekly sessions.
